Biographical/Historical:     In 2000, Baker County native and Macclenny resident LaViece Smallwood Moser, then Director of the Baker County Historical Society, began collecting historical information for what would become Heritage Park Village, a unique multi-structure museum dedicated to preserving Baker County's community history. For over a decade, Moser worked closely with Baker County residents by conducting oral history interviews, performing genealogical research of pioneer families, and collecting photos and objects donated by Baker's citizens.

Prior to her research for Heritage Park Village, LaViece recognized the importance of documenting special moments for future generations and maintained her own collection of family photos and films.

Summary:     This collection consists of materials accumulated by LaViece Smallwood Moser as the result of her research during the formation of Heritage Park Village. This collection includes Moser's notes and correspondence, family genealogies, scrapbook and photo albums, and copies of her publications about Baker County residents. This collection also includes a variety of audio/visual materials such as digital recordings of oral histories and songs by local artists; videos of interviews and local festivities; and family movies, photographs, and slides. These diverse materials present a comprehensive history of Baker County's culture, people, and buildings from the settling of pioneer families in the late 1800s to the County's bicentennial celebration in 2011.

This collection also includes film reels and slides that depict people in LaViece's family, and events such as birthday celebrations, vacations, funerals, and reunions.
