Summary:     This microfilm publication contains passenger lists of vessels arriving in Knights Key, Florida from 1908-1912.  The lists or manifests of alien immigrants were required by the regulation of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under the Act of Congress approved March 3, 1893 to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the commanding officer of any vessel having alien passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States. Information on each passenger list may include name; age; sex; marital status; occupation; nationality; last residence; final destination; how much money the individual possesses; when and where previously in the United States; name of relative they plan to join, if any; if ever in prison, almshouse, or supported by charity; whether a polygamist; whether under contract; condition of health, mental and physical; deformed or crippled.
At the beginning of each volume is an index which lists what page a particular vessel's passenger list is found. In addition, in some instances the volumes contain the commanding officer and surgeon affidavits certifying that the passengers are in good mental and physical condition.
