Biographical/Historical:     The National Society Colonial Dames of the XVII Century organized in 1915 "to preserve the records and commemorate the noble and heroic deeds of our ancestors, who are the founders of our great Republic." In New Port Richey, Florida, Mrs. Patrick Bray organized the Florida Society Colonial Dames of the XVII Century on November 19, 1934 and served as the first president. Since then, the Florida Society has grown to include more than 20 local chapters covering all areas of the state.

Summary:     The collection contains microfilmed copies of scrapbooks of the Florida Society Colonial Dames of the XVII Century. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, lists of members, bulletins, correspondence, programs of meetings, and telegrams. It includes some Information on various chapters within the state.

    The roll also contains a scrapbook of the Tallahassee chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution from 1957 to 1968. The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, telegrams, correspondence, and a brief history of the chapter, founded in 1957.
