Biographical/Historical:     The National Society of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century was organized in 1915 "to preserve the records and commemorate the noble and heroic deeds of our ancestors, who are the founders of our great Republic."  The Florida Society was founded on November 19, 1934, with Mrs. Patrick Bray serving as the first president.
Summary:     The collection contains microfilmed copies of scrapbooks of the Florida Society of the National Society of Colonial Dames of the XVII Century, 1934-1981.  The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings, lists of members, bulletins, correspondence, programs of meetings, and telegrams.  Information on various chapters within the state is also included.
    The roll also contains a scrapbook of the Tallahassee chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution from 1957 to 1968.  The scrapbook contains newspaper clippings, telegrams, correspondence, and a brief history of the chapter, founded in 1957.
