Summary:     This microfilm publication contains index cards which refer to pension applications of veterans who served in the United States Army from the State of Florida between 1861 and 1917.  The majority of the records pertain to Civil War veterans, but they also include veterans of the Spanish American War.  Florida Union veterans associated with the Civil War served in the 1st and 2nd Florida Cavalry Regiment; veterans of Spanish American war served in the 1st Florida Infantry Regiment.  The roll also contains the index to Georgia Union veterans who served in the Civil War and veterans of the Spanish American War who served in the First Georgia Cavalry Regiment.
    Each card gives the soldier's name, rank, unit, and terms of service; names of relationships of any dependents; the application number; the certificate number; and the state from which the claim was filed.
