The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Migrant Labor Program was created in 1974 (Ch. 74-307, Laws) as part of the Division of Community Services of the Dept. of Community Affairs.  It assumed the duties of the Division of Migrant Labor (Ch. 69-106, Laws).  The Program cooperated with local, state, and federal agencies to develop and implement programs for migrant workers.  The Migrant Labor Program was transferred to the Executive Office of the Governor in 1979 (Ch. 79-190, Laws).
Summary:     The series contains the subject files from 1970 to 1978 maintained by the Migrant Labor Program and its predecessor agency, the Division of Migrant Labor.  The records documents proposed legislation to improve the living and working conditions of migrant farm workers.  The records include legislative drafts, correspondence, memoranda, reports, minutes, transcripts, and newspaper clippings.
