Summary:     This series consists of Title IX university self-evaluation reports from 1972 to 1978 of the Office of Equal Educational Opportunity Programs of the State University System.  Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (U.S.) specifically required that each university complete and submit to the U.S. Dept. of Health, Education, and Welfare, prior to July 21, 1976, a self-evaluation report.  The universities were to evaluate its policies and practices concerning sex discrimination in admissions, athletic programs, scholarships, and employment opportunities for female students.  It also required that policies and practices be modified if they did not meet the requirements.  Types of materials include the reports, follow-up reports, correspondence and memoranda supporting the reports, directions for self-analysis, and documents suggesting remedial action.
