The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     This series contains reference files, 1936-1953, of the Florida Industrial Commission related to its Unemployment Compensation and Employment Service Divisions.  Included are bulletins, reports, and memoranda from the U.S. Social Security Board, U.S. Bureau of Employment Security, U.S. Employment Service, War Manpower Commission, and U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
    The unemployment compensation files document the development of the program in Florida and other states under the guidance of the U.S. Social Security Board's regulations.  Topics include:  benefit payment formulas and procedures; collection of employers' contributions and rates; and compensation of seasonal workers and migratory labor.  There are also conference reports and proceedings of the Interstate Conference of Employment Security Agencies.
    The labor files document labor markets, labor supply, and wages in the World War II period at a state, regional, and national level. Wage reports document the type of industries and wages in Florida after the war.
