Summary:     The series contain various reports of the War Manpower Commission in Florida from 1943-1945.  The Commission divided the state into War Manpower Commission Administrative Areas headquartered in Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Panama City, and Tampa; and Labor Market Areas which include the aforementioned areas and Gainesville, Key West, Lakeland, Pensacola, and West Palm Beach.  These offices reported to both state and federal agencies regarding the demand, supply, and availability of labor, actual and expected in-migration of labor, and the consequent effect upon existing community facilities and training agencies.  The Commission served as the recruitment and placement service for vital war industries throughout World War II.
    The reports consist of Monthly State Director's Reports (January 1944-June 1944); Monthly Field Operating Reports (December 1943-June 1945) submitted by the War Manpower Commission's Administrative Areas; and Labor Market Developments Reports (April 1943-December 1943; July 1945-August 1945) and Demand and Supply Supplements (January 1944-March 1945) submitted by the Labor Market Areas.  Also included are Labor Market Surveys for Pensacola and Gainesville (April 1943).
