The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     This series contains Governor Askew's general correspondence that was handled by his Press Section from 1971 to 1978.  The records include both incoming and outgoing correspondence covering a wide range of topics. Notable topics include the energy crisis, the introduction of the Arrive Alive campaign by Governor's Highway Safety Commission, educational busing between districts and responses to Governor Askew's keynote address to the Democratic National Convention in 1972. The voices of children are represented in several instances in student letters written to the governor from youth throughout the United States.
