The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. The apprenticeship program was originally administered by the Florida Apprenticeship Council (1947, Ch. 23934, Laws).  In 1953, the Department of Apprenticeship was created in the Florida Industrial Commission to manage the program, and the Apprenticeship Council became an advisory board.  The Bureau of Apprenticeship was created in the Dept. of Commerce in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws).  It was transferred to the Dept. of Labor and Employment Security in 1979 (Ch. 79-387, Laws).  Its duties are to establish standards and rules for apprenticeship programs, register apprenticeship programs, issue apprenticeship agreements, and investigates complaints.

The series contains original training agreements issued by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and its predecessor agencies from 1947 to 1981.  The agreements include the name of the apprentice and sponsor and the type of trade.
