Biographical/Historical:     Nicole Bohlmann created the Coral Gables Senior High School "How Has COVID-19 Impacted You?" Essay Contest after reflecting on being a student during a pandemic and deciding to invent an event to document both her and her peers' experiences. Along with assistance from the Coral Gables PTSA and other community members, the idea progressed to the contest. In it's first year, contest submissions were accepted from November 15, 2020 through December 15, 2020. Judges rated the 114 submissions through an online platform and first, second, and third place finishers were announced shortly after judging finished. Bohlmann submitted the project to the Girl Scouts of Tropical Florida and received a Girl Scouts Gold Award for her efforts.

Bohlmann organized a second round of the contest in 2021. This time, the contest name was "Tell Us About Your Pandemic Experiences: Are We Done Yet?". Partnering once more with the Coral Gabes PTSA and other community members, Bohlmann released the contest to Coral Gables Senior High students. All students that submitted essays received community service hours and $500 cash prizes for first, second and third place. The group accepted submissions from January 7, 2022 through January 24, 2022. Judges rated the submissions through an online platform. Bohlmann and the PTSA held a virtual event on February 18, 2022 to announce the winners.

Summary:   This series includes all student submissions from the Coral Gables Senior High School "Tell Us About Your Pandemic Experiences: Are We Done Yet?" Essay Contest.
