Biographical/Historical:     Sheffield and Laudaman was a construction company in Tallahassee, Florida in the early 1800s. Established by David M. Sheffield and John Laudaman, the company provided construction materials and services to citizens and businesses in Leon County.

Summary:     This collection consists of a single-volume ledger that documents the work of the Sheffield and Laudaman Company. The entries include the client name, work done or materials purchased, and amounts paid or fees received. Some examples of work performed are shingling a house and chimney, painting a boat, building window frames, and building and hanging shutters. Clients also purchased raw materials such as nails and boards. The first entry dates January 17, 1829 and the last entry dates August 14, 1829. After the last entry is the statement, "Closed the firm Sheffield and Laudeman."
