The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Florida Legislature created the Executive Office of the Governor in 1979 (Chapter 79-190, Laws of Florida). The Office is comprised of staff members handling the administrative functions required by the Governor. The Office also houses various committees, commissions and councils created by the Governor.

Summary:     This series contains legal records from the Executive Office of the Governor, primarily during the administration of Governor Jeb Bush, that document several of Florida's environmental issues as they moved through the federal court system. The records also provide some insight into the role of the Governor's Legal Office in tracking those issues. The types of records include court transcripts, correspondence with outside law firms, pleadings, trial briefs and various other court documents related to the environmental impacts and issues of offshore drilling, shared river waters and Everglades restoration.
