The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Florida Trust for Historic Preservation is Florida's only statewide nonprofit preservation organization. Founded in 1978 as a network of committed preservationists, its mission is to promote the preservation of the architectural, historical and archaeological heritage of Florida through advocacy, education and stewardship. The Florida Trust has collaborated to save irreplaceable Florida treasures like the Historic Florida Capitol. It serves as a steward for historic properties throughout the state and is a statewide partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Summary:     This collection documents the operations and activities of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation in the carrying out of its mission to protect Florida's heritage and history. It includes preservation training workshop and seminar materials, annual preservation award application and nomination forms, and VHS tapes of Preservation Awards shows and notable preservation efforts. This collection also includes photographs, negatives and slides of various annual events, workshops, tours, individuals, and historic properties.
