Biographical/Historical:     The State Board of Accountancy was created in 1931 (Ch. 15636, Laws).  Its duties are to conduct examinations and grant certificates for certified public accountants, to formulate rules and prescribe standards of professional conduct for persons holding accountancy certificates, and to conduct investigations and bring formal charges against individuals or firms violating the law or rule.
Summary:     The series contains the minutes of the State Board of Accountancy from 1927 to 1979.  The minutes document the topics of discussion, decisions made, and actions taken by the Board. Included are lists of candidates for examination and the names of individuals who passed the exam and were issued CPA certificates to practice in the profession.  There are no indexes to the minutes.
