Biographical/Historical:     Effa Claire Welsh was the daughter of Captian John H. Welsh (1839-1926), the founder of Welshton, Florida, in Marion County.
Summary:     This collection includes a letter and poem written by Effa Claire Welsh to Mr. Place. Her letter, sent on October 13, 1892 from Welshton, Florida, asked Mr. Place if he would be interested in paying to publish her poem in his paper. Her poem, "A Christmas of the Past," consists of 24 quatrains and was written under her nom de plume, Eleanor Fenton Grey.
