Biographical/Historical:     William M. McIntosh (1825-1904) was a notary public and the chief clerk of the Comptroller's Office of Florida from 1862 to 1904. His son, William M. McIntosh, Jr., also served in the Comptroller's Office from 1878 to 1933, taking over as chief clerk after his father's death.
Summary:     This collection consists of deeds, contracts, and other papers that William M. McIntosh stamped and signed during his work as a notary public in Tallahassee, Florida. The documents date from 1873, 1880, 1887, 1891, and 1902. The collection also includes records relating to the Internal Improvement Fund for the State of Florida, dating from 1908.
