Biographical/Historical:     The Hayes Memorial Library in Fremont, Ohio opened in 1916. It was the first presidential library open to the public, dedicated to 19th president of the United States, Rutherford B. Hayes. Today the library is part of the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.
Summary:     This collection consists of copies of Florida-related letters that the Hayes Memorial Library maintains within their collections. Many of these letters concern politics, political parties, and the 1878 United States House of Representatives elections in Florida.

After a careful review of the records, where archivists noted that the records were related to the Hayes Memorial Library, rather than Rutherford B.
