Biographical/Historical:     The Board of Pharmacy was created in 1889 (Ch. 3880, Laws of Florida) to conduct examinations of those who wished to practice the profession of pharmacy.  Its duties are to issue certificates for the practice of pharmacy, to issue an annual register of those licensed to practice pharmacy in Florida, and to suspend or revoke licenses.
Summary:     The series contains the certification applications of persons wanting to practice pharmacy in Florida submitted to the Board of Pharmacy from 1911 to 1939.  The records include license applications, correspondence, reciprocity records, out-of-state licenses, and in some cases, certified applicant photographs.  The applications include such information as birth date, birthplace, residence, education, experience, and recommendations.
