Summary:     The series contains the minutes of the Railroad Commission (1887-1891 and 1897-1944) and the conference minutes (1945-2012) and the internal affairs meetings (1980-2012) of the Public Service Commission.  There is a gap in the minutes of the Railroad Commission which was established in 1887, suspended in 1891, and re-created in 1897.  Included are seven volumes of original minutes, three indexes, and five volumes of duplicate copies of the minutes.  There is a gap in the conference minutes from July 1965 to December 1966 though no records are missing.  Volumes 1-3 of the conference minutes are indexed.

    The minutes document the topics of discussion, decisions made, and actions taken by the Commissions regarding rates, notices, and rules for railroads, common carriers, canal companies, telephone and telegraph companies, and public utilities.  The internal affairs minutes document the Public Service Commission's organization, functions, management, operations, finances, and governmental affairs.
