The OAOC consists of 16 members, with the Commissioner of Education as chair. It is the designated State agency for purposes of receiving Title I Vocational Rehabilitation Services (VRS) funds. The major functions of OAOC include: prepare and submit the state vocational rehabilitation plan; serve as the state governing authority of programs administered by the Commission; and develop and implement a five-year plan to promote occupational access and opportunities for Floridians with disabilities. The OAOC is responsible for consulting stakeholders and holding public hearings.
Summary:     This series documents the activities of the Occupational Access and Opportunity Commission, including the delivery of vocational rehabilitation and employment related services to individuals with disabilities; the mediation of problems with OAOC services (the length of processing time and the review of qualifications and stands for counselors);  and the development of policies and procedures for management of Vocational Rehabilitation programs. The records consist of meeting packets; meeting minutes; transcripts of meetings; drafts of By-Laws and Articles of Incorporation; orientation manuals; and requests for proposals.  The records include the meetings of the Full Committee; the Budget, Policy, and Planning Committee; and the Compliance and Oversight Committee.
