The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     This series documents the Department of Legal Affairs' involvement in federal appeals proceedings in high profile death penalty cases.  The series includes U.S. District Court, U.S. Courts of Appeals, and U.S. Supreme Court records such as Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus, Application for Stay of Execution, U.S. Supreme Court order denying stay of execution, copies of Florida Court judgments and sentencing hearing transcripts, and other pleadings, orders, and legal instruments and documentation used or generated by the federal Courts in deciding the issues in each case.  Related Department of Legal Affairs files duplicating Florida Court files and/or the State Archives' Capital Postconviction Public Records Repository files for each case were not transferred to the Archives.
    The series includes records in the case of Paul Jennings Hill and Theodore Robert Bundy. Hill was an anti-abortion activist executed in 2003 for the 1994 murders of a doctor and his bodyguard outside a women's medical clinic in Pensacola. Bundy was one of the most infamous serial killers in United States history executed in 1989 for murdering several women from 1974-1978.
