	Biographical/Historical:	Danny Harold Rolling was an American serial killer who murdered five students in Gainesville, Florida, between November 1989 and August 1990. He was also known as "The Gainesville Ripper." In addition, Rolling later confessed to a triple homicide in Shreveport, Louisiana, in 1989. He was executed by lethal injection in 2006. Danny Rolling was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on May 25, 1954. During his teenage and young adult years he was arrested several times for robberies in Georgia. During a family argument in May 1990, he tried to murder his father.
	Summary:	This series contains photocopies of newspaper articles covering the events in Gainesville during investigation of the student murders and the eventual arrest and trial of Danny Rolling. Among the many topics covered by the newspapers were the biographies of the victims, the location of the crimes, the investigation of possible suspects, and the trial and sentencing of Danny Rolling. The newspapers include the Gainesville Sun, Tampa Tribune, Orlando Sentinel, St. Petersburg Times, Florida Times Union, Miami Herald, Tallahassee Democrat, Ocala Star Banner, Pensacola News Journal, and Florida Today.
