Biographical/Historical:     The Agency for Health Care Administration was established in 1992 (Ch. 92-33, Laws).  It administers the state's medicaid program, licenses and regulates health care facilities and health maintenance organizations, addresses complaints for the state's health care practitioners, and publishes health care data and statistics.  In 2000 (Ch. 2000-305, Laws) it was created as a Department.
Summary:     This series consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, and related records documenting the activities of the Governor's Three Member Panel established in Section 440.13(12), Florida Statutes, Workers' Compensation, to "determine maximum reimbursement allowances for medically necessary treatment, care, and attendance..." This series also contains fiscal impact statements which attempt to interpret guidelines and their affect on benefits in addition to the impact upon the provider's levels of reimbursement allowances, and analyses on whether the new guidelines are favorable when compared to the Minnesota guidelines.
