Biographical/Historical:     Abbie Black Sneed (1853-1945) married John Sneed (1848-1900) in March 1877. They lived primarily in Tallahassee, Florida. Abbie's name is alternatively spelled "Abby."

Summary:     This collection consists of correspondence and personal papers of the Black, Alexander, and Sneed families. The materials include a letter from Mrs. Alexander in New York to Abby Black in Midway, Florida, dated 5 November 1876; , a last will and testament of Abby Sneed, dated 27 September 1924; a recommendation for Abby Black from Mrs. Horace Alexander, dated 14 May 1875; and a Capital City Bank deposit book for John Sneed, dating from 1897 to 1903.
