Biographical/Historical:     Born in 1894, Roy VanCamp was a civil engineer. He attended the College of Engineering at the University of Florida (class of 1916), where he played both football and basketball with future governor and senator Spessard Holland. In the 1920s, Van Camp worked as Bradenton's civil engineer and worked on many large-scale projects in Tampa, Ft. Myers, Sarasota, and Miami. In 1940, he was the engineer for Camp Blanding. Van Camp died in Tampa in April 1987.

Summary:     This collection consists of photographs of Roy VanCamp's engineering projects throughout Florida, many for the Public Works Administration (PWA). Images in the collection include Camp Blanding, Homestead Air Force Base, Withlacoochee River Bridge, Miami Air Depot, the Overseas Highway, and numerous other road projects. There are also several images of VanCamp at the University of Florida, including several of the university's football team in 1915 and 1916.
