Biographical/Historical:     Lake Worth is a city in Palm Beach County, Florida, named for the Lake Worth Lagoon on its eastern border and incorporated in 1913. Lake Worth benefitted from the Florida land boom of the 1920s, and the growing city built its first casino and municipal beach complex, and the Gulfstream Hotel.
Summary:     This collection contains black-and-white photographic prints of Lake Worth in the 1920s, as well as a few images of nearby Palm Beach. Images include bathers at the beach, local homes and facilities, social events, shipping, and the aftermath of the 1926 hurricane. Many of the photographs were part of a photograph album that was photocopied and then disassembled.
