Biographical/Historical:     In 1890s, the Dunnellon Phosphate Company constructed a shipping basin at the mouth of the Withlacoochee River, on the coast of Levy County, naming it Port Inglis after John L. Inglis, an early investor in the phosphate company. The port quickly became America's largest phosphate port during Florida's late-19th century phosphate boom.

Summary:     This collection consists of seven black and white photographs of shipping and a train for the phosphate industry in Port Inglis on the coast of Levy County, Florida.
