The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Executive Office of the Governor was created in 1979 and is comprised of staff members handling the administrative functions required by the Governor (Ch. 79-190, Laws of Florida).  The Office also houses various committees, commissions, and councils created by the Governor.

    The Office of Planning and Budget (OPB) exists within the Executive Office of the Governor to provide coordinated planning, policy development, budgeting and evaluation in support of the Governor, State agencies and State Legislature, as well as to the Executive Office of the Governor. The OPB consists of nine units that cover various aspects of government operations, including Transportation and Economic Development, Education, Environment, Public Safety, Growth Management and Planning, and General Government.

Summary:     This series contains administrative records that document the activities of internal units and the director of the Office of Planning and Budget. The records consist of correspondence with constituents and other agencies regarding various issues, programs, and budgets; legislative materials such as budget requests, budget amendments, and committee files; reports and analyses of state agency policies and funding issues; and various other records that document the wide-ranging duties of the OPB.
