The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     The Florida Polygraph Advisory Council was mandated (Ch. 493.564, FS) to counsel and advise the Dept. of State and make recommendations relative to the operation and regulation of the polygraph industry.  It was administered by the Division of Licensing.  The Council also provided technical assistance for the purpose of reviewing and analyzing complaints involving the administration of detection of deception examinations. This Chapter of the Florida Statutes was created in 1980 (Ch. 80-268, Laws). The Council was abolished by the Legislature in 1990.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the Florida Polygraph Advisory Council from 1987 to 1990.  The records include meeting files, correspondence, minutes, and membership lists.
