Biographical/Historical:     The Private Security Advisory Council was mandated (Ch. 493.303, FS) to counsel and advise the Dept. of State and make recommendations relative to the operation and regulation of the private security industry.  This chapter of the Florida Statutes was organized in 1980 (Ch. 80-268, Laws).  The Council is administered by the Division of Licensing.
    The Council was responsible for developing the training program for guards possessing the D license and for implementing fire arms training for guards holding the G license.  The Council also assisted in drafting legislation and rules.
Summary:     This series contains the records of the Private Security Advisory Council from 1982 to 1990.  The records include meeting files, minutes, correspondence, and administrative convenience files.
