Biographical/Historical:     Maud Hamilton (Myers) Palmer (1874-1903) was born to Thomas P. Myers and Mary Hamilton (Screven) Meginniss. She married Henry Edwards Palmer (1866-1944) of the Monticello Palmer family on November 7, 1894. The couple lived in Tallahassee and had three children: Council Bryan, Thomas Myers, and Hugh Archer. She died at 29 years old and is buried in Tallahassee's Old City Cemetery.

    Henry later remarried twice, first to Lucile Saxon (1885-1927), and then to Leah Burgess (1874-1960), after Lucile's death. He had fourt children with Lucile and Leah: Sarah Ball, George Saxon, Mary Lucille, and Martin.

Summary:     This collection of photographs taken from Maud Myers Palmer's photo album depicts her family and friends in the Tallahassee area. Images include members of the Collins and Gibbens families as well as an image of Henry Edwards Palmer in his Centennial Parade costume in 1924.

    One image in this collection appears to depict a Black woman and includes the following note on the backside, "this may be Maud Myers Palmer's mammy Jenkins."
