Biographical/Historical:     The cyanotype process, created by English astronomer Sir John Herschel in 1842, was later applied to photography by Anna Atkins. The process involves soaking paper with a photo-sensitive solution, then exposing the paper to a UV-light source (often sunlight) shown through a photographic negative to produce a print.
Summary:     This collection consists of cyanotypes of hotels, churches, roads, and other Florida scenes in Jacksonville, Lake Worth, St. Augustine, and Palm Beach.
