The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical: The Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) was created in 2011 (Ch. 2011-142).  Portions of the Agency for Workforce Innovation (AWI), Department of Community Affairs (DCA), as well as the Office of Tourism Trade and Economic Development (OTTED) were transferred to DEO. DEO promotes economic opportunities through the development of policies and strategies beneficial to the state's workforce and communities.  The agency is responsible for increasing national and global competitiveness through programs such as Sister Cities, Florida International Notary, and Consular Corps.

Summary:   This series consists primarily of correspondence and meeting files related to international relations and diplomacy.  Consular Corps, Florida International Notary, International Linkage Institutes, and Sister Cities and Sister States Initiatives are the major subjects covered by the records. Additional materials in this series include Haitian security and budget information, publications on Florida's economy, and video cassettes from the Sunshine Network on Public Affairs.  Also included are records of the Bureau of Consular Corps activities in relation to the Vienna Conference on Consular Affairs.
