The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Summary:     This series was generated by a project to document the Myakka River communities of Sarasota County and produce a booklet and slideshow providing a profile of the traditional and changing lifestyles and values of those communities. The project was sponsored by the Bureau of Florida Folklife Programs, directed by the Crowley Museum and Nature Center in Sarasota, and funded in part by the Florida Endowment for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities. The series includes a small amount of correspondence, the first draft of the slideshow script, and a transcript of a 1983 meeting at which conflicting views about community development were expressed.
