The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     Created in  1999, the Florida Film & Entertainment Advisory Council (Chapter 288.1252, Florida Statutes) serves as an advisory body to the Office of Tourism, Trade, and Economic Development and to the Governor's Office of Film and Entertainment to provide these offices with industry insight and expertise related to developing, marketing, promoting, and providing service to Florida's entertainment industry.  Initially know as the Florida Film Advisory Council, the Council consists of 17 members, seven appointed by the Governor, five appointed by the President of the Senate, and five appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The Film Commissioner, a representative of Enterprise Florida, Inc., and a representative of the Florida Tourism Industry Marketing Corporation (Visit Florida) serve as ex officio, nonvoting members of the council in addition to the 17 appointed members of the Council.
FFEAC objectives are to:
  1.  Aid in the development of plans to address the needs of Florida's film and entertainment industry.
  2.  Support and enhance a business climate conducive to the state's film and entertainment industry.
  3.  Provide industry-related demographic, economic, and informational support to the Office of Film Commissioner.
  4.  Advise in the development of a K-12 through college digital/film education track, occupational skills training, and incumbent worker re-training, for the film and entertainment industry in Florida.
  5.  Strengthen film and entertainment industry planning and cooperation among public sector agencies and private sector organizations.
  6.  Assist governmental institutions and legislators in obtaining the resources necessary to proactively plan for the rapidly changing needs of the digital entertainment medium.
  7.  Work with special communities, minorities and diverse organizations to address their unique needs and challenges.
Summary:     This series documents the operations and activities of the Florida Film and Entertainment Advisory Council (FFEAC), particularly their quarterly meetings.  The series includes meeting summaries, agendas, minutes, memos, correspondence and audio tapes, as well as strategic plans, bylaws, and economic assessments.
