Biographical/Historical:     In 2003, the Senate Committee on Communication and Public Utilities (2003-2008) became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws. In 2009, the name was changed to the Committee on Communications, Energy and Public Utilities 92009-2016).

Summary:     This series contains the recordings of the Senate Committee on Communication and Public Utilities (2003-2007) and the Senate Committee on Communications, Energy and Public Utilities (2009-2016, 2018). The recordings document committee meetings and contain discussion on  legislation on public utilities, cable TV, telecommunication systems, the "911" emergency service, renewable energy, water supplies, and high technology industries.
