The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2003, the committee name was changed to the Senate Committee on Comprehensive Planning.  In 1998, the Senate Committee on Comprehensive Planning, Local and Military Affairs became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.  From 1988 to 1998, some of the functions of this committee were carried out by the Senate Committee on Community Affairs.
Summary:     This series contains the audiotaped recordings of the Senate Committee on Comprehensive Planning (2003- ) and the Senate Committee on Comprehensive Planning, Local and Military Affairs (1998-2002).  The tapes document committee and subcommittee meetings and contain discussion on urban policy; factory-built housing safety; governmental conflict resolution; community redevelopment; military base retention; regional planning; local government enforcement boards; traffic safety; and metropolitan planning organizations.  The records of the Senate Select Committee on Public Security & Crisis Management (2001-2002) are included.  The tapes are not transcribed or indexed.
