The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 2006, the name of the committee was changed to the House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety.  In 2003, the name of the committee was changed to the House Committee on Public Safety and Crime Prevention (2003-2004).  In 2000, the House Committee on Crime Prevention, Corrections and Safety became a standing committee with a permanent staff under the provisions of Ch. 68-35, Laws.
Summary:     This series contains the audio recordings for the House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety (2006 - ) and its predecessor committees:  the House Committee on Public Safety and Crime Prevention (2003-2004) and the House Committee on Crime Prevention, Corrections, and Safety (2001-2002).  This series also contains the audiotapes for the Select Committee on Homeland Security (2003).  The recordings document legislation relating to law enforcement methods, crime prevention and procedure, correctional facilities, and public safety matters.  The tapes are not transcribed.
