The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In November 1996, the House of Representatives reorganized the standing House committees into Councils.  The Councils shall rank each of the bills upon referral in order of importance to the House and shall forward such ranking to the Speaker.  The ranking shall be amended as the council receives additional reports at least once each calendar week and no more than twice in a calendar week.  Councils may return bills available for ranking to the appropriate standing committee with a request for further consideration including but not limited to combining two or more bills into a commitee substitute.
    The Procedural and Redistricting Council records contain information for the following committees:  House Claims, Joint Administrative Procedures, Joint Legislative Auditing, Joint Legislative Committee on Article V, Joint Legislative Committee on Everglades Oversight, Joint Legislative Committee on Intergovernmental Relations, House Rules, Ethics & Elections, Select Committee on Security, House Congressional Redistricting,  House Redistricting, and Senate Redistricting.  The Council was formally known as the Procedural Council.  The records for this Council also contain audiotapes for several Select Committees, including the Select Committee to Review Contested Seat, the Select Committee on Standards of Official Conduct,  the Select Committee to Review the Charges of a Contested Seat,  the Select Committee on Electoral Certification Accuracy and Fairness,  and the Select Joint Committee on the Manner of the Appointment of Presidential Electors.
