Biographical/Historical:     Ida Raa Myrick was born on December 4, 1902, to Augusta and Johanna Nelson Raa in Tallahassee, Florida. She taught at both Carolyn Brevard School and Leon County High School, and she was the science supervisor of Leon County Schools for two years. She was a member of Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Delta Pi, Delta Kappa Gamma, the National Education Association, and the National Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Tallahassee Garden Club and Covenant Presbyterian Church.  Raa Middle School in Tallahassee is named in honor of her mother, Augusta Raa.

Summary:     This collection contains photographs documenting several generations of the Raa family of Tallahassee, Florida. Also included is a tintype of an unidentified child of the Raa family. There are also two-color postcards of Tallahassee, ten glass negatives of images taken by Augusta Raa, and an albumen print by Tallahassee photographer Alvan S. Harper.
