Biographical/Historical:     Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society was a secret fraternal society organized in 1890 to provide life insurance to its members. A women's auxiliary called the Woodmen Circles formed shortly after. The Circles operated independently until it merged with the Woodmen of the World in 1965.
Summary:     This single-item collection consists of a group photograph of the women's auxiliary of Woodmen of the World. The image depicts several unidentified women dressed in uniform standing on the front steps of the Florida Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida. The women are wearing white dresses with bow ties, sashes and marching poles.
