Biographical/Historical:     Kelsey City, established in November 1923, was Florida's first zoned municipality. During the Florida land boom, Massachusetts entrepreneur Harry Kelsey purchased 30,000 acres of land in the northeast corner of Palm Beach County. He planned for Kelsey City to be a bustling metropolis and resort mecca, and the city experienced significant growth in its first few years. However, the 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane and the Wall Street Crash of 1929 nearly ruined the city. In 1939, the local garden club petitioned to change the town's name to Lake Park.

Summary:     This collection contains photographs of buildings and boats in Kelsey City, Florida. One image is of C.J. Tallman's Engineer's Office of Kelsey City with staff posing for the picture on the front steps. Other images depict boats on the Gulf of Mexico.
