Summary:     This collection contains photographs from several camping trips taken around Central Florida in the early 1920s. The 91 black and white images depict various springs (Wekiwa, Silver, Blue Rock and De Leon springs), lakes (Apopka, Harris, and Dora), and rivers (Withlacochee, St. Johns, and Silver); canals; industries such as sawgrass harvesting, citrus picking, and cane grinding; and views of the towns of Mt. Dora and Tangerine, ferry crossings on the St. Johns River, tourists swimming, and several Black structures and cemeteries. These photographs document both the natural and cultural landscape of Central Florida in the early 1920s and the various social and economic activities of the area. Many of the areas shown have either been developed or have become state parks since then. This collection provides visual information on the original conditions of the region. Most of the photos have written descriptions on the reverse.
