Summary:     The records in this series focus on a 1974 study which used the Concept Team Charette process,  a practical, community-based historic preservation tool.  This technique utilizes an engineering systems approach which combines outside consultants, local citizen groups, and elected officials.  Together they identify restoration opportunities and the zoning, legal and logistical problems facing such improvements.  Some of the subjects identified include the importance of the Brokaw-McDougall and  Knott House, the Old City Cemetery, establishment of a downtown historic district, and both the Florida A&M University and Florida State University campus areas.  The study incorporated an earlier Tallahassee Historic Building Survey conducted in 1967 by planning consultant Paul S. Dulaney of Greenwood, Virginia.  Also of interest is the 1974 Leon County archeological survey which detailed significant sites within the city and county and includes maps of the areas.
