Summary:     This series contains drawings, plans, maps, and clippings devoted to the preservation of houses, buildings, and areas that are considered to be of historic value throughout Tallahassee and surrounding Leon County.
Many of the maps show the development of this area from 1824 to the 1990s.  Also included are the plans for several restoration projects that include the Brokaw-McDougall house as well as other houses in the downtown area.  There are also some detailed maps of the plantations to the north of Tallahassee, i.e. Tall Timbers, Luna, Horseshoe, and Foshalee, that were used as hunting preserves. Some surveyor's plats of Saint Mark's are also included.
Several of the maps and drawings also document the growth of the "Capitol Center", and the land use decisions in the years of development of Tallahassee.  In addition, there are some drawings regarding the creation of the downtown parks system.
When the container list shows the name of a geographic location or entity, e.g. a plantation or city area, the type of record found will be a street map, topographic map, aerial photograph, or plat map.  If the citation refers to a building, house or family name the record will be a variation of an architectural or technical drawing of that building or its grounds.
