Terms Governing Use:
Biographical/Historical:     The Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), initiated in 1933, is the oldest Federal preservation program.  It was created as a comprehensive effort to document America's historic places.  It was established through an agreement with the National Park Service, American Institute of Architects, and the Library of Congress. Microfilm copies of the architectural drawings and historical documentation are made available by the Library of Congress, which is the repository for the original drawings and documentation.
The records collected by the Historic American Buildings Survey provide permanent evidence of historic structures.  Priority in selecting places to be documented is given to sites with national significance, structures administered by the National Park Service, or buildings of architectural significance that are being demolished.
Summary:     The series contains a microfilm copy of architectural drawings of Florida historic sites filmed in 1974 as part of the Historic American Buildings Survey for the Library of Congress microfilm collection.  The majority of the structures were located in St. Augustine, Pensacola, and Tallahassee.
