The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In November 1996, the House of Representatives reorganized the standing House committees into Councils.  Except for the Procedural Council, each council shall consist of a chair, the chair of each of the standing committees within the council, and such other members as may be designated by the Speaker in accordance with Rule 17.  The Councils shall rank each of the bills upon referral in order of importance to the House and shall forward such ranking to the Speaker.  The ranking shall be amended as the council receives additional reports at least once each calendar week and no more than twice in a calendar week.  Councils may return bills available for ranking to the appropriate standing committee with a request for further consideration including but not limited to combining two or more bills into a committee substitute.
    Organized in 2000, the Council on Lifelong Learning consists of the following committees: House Colleges and Universities, House Education Innovation, House General Education, and House Workforce & Technical Skills.
Summary:     This series contains audio recordings that document Council of Lifelong Learning meetings.  These meetings were held to discuss legislation referred to the council from member committees.
