The Online Catalog allows searching and browsing of information about the Florida State Archives’ holdings of over 48,000 cubic feet of state and local government records and historical manuscripts. The catalog provides descriptions of over 3,400 collections and lists the contents of containers and folders in many of those collections. Biographical/Historical:     In 1975, the National Historical Publications and Records Commission created state boards as part of their newly established Records Program.  Florida's State Historical Records Advisory Board serves as the central advisory body for historical records planning to encourage the preservation and use of historical records.  In addition, the Board reviews grant proposals of state and local scope.  The Board is administered by the Florida State Archives and is headed by the State Archivist; its members are appointed by the governor.
Summary:     This series contains records relating the the Needs Assessment Survey Project of the State Historical Records Advisory Board from 1977 to 1985.  The records include meeting files, surveys, and the Board's grant project files.
