	Biographical/Historical:	In February 1983, Agricultural Commissioner Doyle Conner, feeling that the Agricultural Department was becoming too unwieldy and needed re-organizing, called for a Departmental Review Task Force to recommend such changes. Over the next year, the Departmental Review Task Force conducted meetings and internal surveys to address department programs and offer solutions and changes. Conner stressed six priorities: better public relations, better communications, consolidating of departments and bureaus, better training, reduction of costs, and more effectiveness and efficiency.
	Summary:	This series contains minutes, policies, agendas, memorandum, organizational charts, and report drafts of the Departmental Review Task Force. Much of the material is arranged by the various divisions within the Department of Agriculture. Included are two Interim Reports, along with pertinent drafts and memorandum. The records document the actions of the Departmental Review Task Force. They also document the type of activities that the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services was engaged in during the early 1980s.
